Play is how children learn and grow. Play groups provide a safe place for children to play, make new friends, and have fun experimenting with different elements of social relationships.

Children with developmental disabilities and other special needs may face challenges when it comes to reciprocal, spontaneous and imaginative play. Therefore, structured play groups are a great way for children with special needs to continue to develop their physical skills, experiment with problem solving, and be exposed to communication and social interaction with age-appropriate peers, all while having fun!

A structured playgroup would involve different activities that focus on the various stages of play - exploratory, cause-and-effect, toy, constructive, physical and pretend play.
